Our store was opened in Stettler October 6, 1994 – on the corner of 50th & 50th in what was previously the Royal Bank building – as Richardson's Jewellery – one of seven independently owned & operated locations in the province of Alberta.
With 22 years already invested in learning the Jewellery Industry – we had three goals that we felt would insure our companies success – High Quality Products – Competitive Pricing – and "Old School" – Quality of Customer Service as our committment!!
Custom Design has been a strong growth area in our business – over the years. We have successfully provided duplicated wedding rings – custom alterated existing jewelry items as well as – fabricated "One of a Kind" pieces of extraordinary jewelry working from our customers wishes for the Ultimate jewelry item in their personal collection!
Fall of 1995 saw the addition of the Richardson's Jewellery location in Brooks change ownership from James & Denise Richardson – to Us. The addition of the Brooks store to our family added a new dimension and challenge that we enjoyed for many years.
As our business grew in Stettler – we expanded in 2002 – moving to our present location at the south end of Main Street doubling the size of our store space and introducing computer operated engraving added to our manual hand operated engraving machines.
Industrial and commercial engraving and etching was our primary focus in the early stages of our engraving company. Avid Customer requests caused the expansion of our engraving company to encompass a full selection of Recognition and Awards offerings. Our continued commitment to Quality with Competitive Value driven prices and attention to detail has made our awards category of engravables become immensely popular among sports teams - employee recognitions with businesses and personalized gifts between friends! To maintain our competitive edge on prices we keep our overhead costs in check – we focus on – quality engravables distributors and carry only a minimal on hand inventory working from our catalogs and ordering in Exactly what our customers desire!
2008 saw the sale of our Brooks location to our long time manager and friend, Irene & her husband Al. We decided at that time to change the operating name of the company to Lawlor Jewelry – as it is known today! The reason for this name change, was to honor Gord's parents – who had owned and operated Lawlor Jewelry in Ladner BC for more than twenty years.
