Now a little back story, a few weeks prior-- my friends had thrown me a surprise party for my university graduation. At this get-together, Tim faked proposing. So, when he got down on one knee under the waterfall, I thought he was pulling my leg again. I used some very colorful language and told him this wasn’t funny. But, when he held up my dream ring, I knew he was serious. The proposal couldn’t have been more us. It will forever be one of my favorite days.
Did you know you would end up together or was it a happy surprise?
Although there was significant resistance from Tim in the beginning… He said after our first date, he knew that we would end up together. As I had mentioned above, I was persistent. After meeting that tall, ginger boy from Erskine I had high hopes that we would end up together. Boy-- am I ever glad I was that 12-year-old girl with a goal in mind.
Favorite part of your relationship?
I think both agree that our favorite part of our relationship is that we are truly doing life with our best friend. We can laugh and cry together-- and just be our most genuine selves. For me, I think my favourite part is the small moments. Spending a night in watching hockey, going on a road trip, and just slowing down to enjoy our time together. Tim’s favourite part is learning and growing together. We have grown up together and he appreciates that we have each other to go through the good and the bad
times with.
What do you look forward to for the rest of your life together?
We look forward to growing our little family and building our lives together. I know that Tim is going to be the most amazing Dad, and I cannot wait to watch our dreams become a reality. We have truly grown up together-- and we cannot wait to grow old together. I am excited to continue to experience all aspects of life with Tim by my side. There is no one else I’d rather grow old and wrinkly with.
Why did he or you choose the ring you did?
I think my Pinterest board and best friend, Ally-- were fairly helpful in the design process of my ring. Tim took in one of my late grandmother’s rings so that some of the diamonds could be incorporated into my ring in her memory. Although, I had dropped some hints. This ring Tim helped design completely surpassed my expectations. It is the most beautiful, timeless piece of jewelry and I cannot wait to wear it for the rest of my life.
Being a Stettler girl and having known the Lawlor family for most of my life-- it was
never a question. Lawlor Jewelry was always the first choice.
